More about Skip.

In life’s journey, things can be hard. God can use art to bring joy to even the most broken of people. And, He has done that for and through the talent he blessed Skip Radmore with.

Richard Radmore is referred to by friends as Skip. His artistic style ranges from cartoon to realism. Many of his pieces have a blend of the two to provide a whimsical perspective on the subject. Skip takes on a wide array of projects, including home goods, apparel, wall canvases, helmets, automobiles, and murals. Most of his works are influenced by years of airbrush experience, and he grew up in a sign shop when hand-lettering and artistic design had not been replaced by computers and printers.

Some of his most notable pieces have been murals in the vacation towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Skip was instrumental in building a realistic bear habitat, a series of murals at a car museum, and outdoor retaining wall murals in Pigeon Forge. Several amusement attractions have contracted Skip to revive children’s rides, and he has done custom work on automobiles and motorcycles. Churches have commissioned his work to create joyful spaces for their youth.

Among Skip’s favorite works, you will find pet portraits. He loves the blessing of animals and is inspired to do portraits that express the personality of the pets. Additionally, seeing children excited to have their favorite toy or character on a shirt with their name is extra special.

It is because he believes in the truth of the Bible that Skip is inspired so deeply to bring joy through his work. “When you realize that God is the Creator of everything, and that he loves us so much to provide a way into a relationship with him through his son, Jesus, you understand that joyful moments through created things are a true blessing from the ultimate Creator,” says Skip. “It is humbling that God would use me to create things that others love so deeply.”

Skip and his wife, Lisa, live in East Tennessee in the shadows of the Great Smoky Mountains. Their shared love for Jesus and nature causes them to seek opportunities to make Jesus known as they travel to events across the country. Because of Jesus, they find that they can “Rejoice always,” (1 Thessalonians 5:16), thus the name “Joyful Airbrush.” When at home, the couple can be found enjoying time with their children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, taking a walk in the mountains, and helping out at their favorite charity, Wears Valley Ranch (wvr.org).
